This summer, we want to help our neighbors and their school-aged children get ready for the coming school year. On Friday, August 8, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., DeMontrond Conroe is hosting our Backpacks and Barbers event.

FREE Haircuts for Kids
We appreciate Mark Gill and his barbershop team's partnership. During our Backpack and Barbers event, they will supply five barbers on site and provide complimentary haircuts. When you look good, you feel good. We plan to help the kids in our community feel their best as they start the new school year.
Backpack & School Supply Giveaway
Thanks to the tireless and compassionate effort of our employees and community members, we're able to perform this giveaway, making it easier for your pocketbook and helping your children head to school with the gear they'll need.
Alpaca Play Date
Enjoy an experience unlike any other when you take part in our Backpacks and Barbers event. Thanks to the efforts of the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show, you and your family can enjoy an exclusive Alpaca experience that you'll never forget. Take photos with these lovely creatures and enjoy loads of fun.
Food Trucks & Vendors
Come on. Come all. Through our partnership with the Conroe Chamber, various food trucks and vendors will be here to help you stay full as you enjoy the events. Between taking bites of your food, we invite you to visit the different booths and get to know several of our local businesses.
Local Police & Fire Department
Everyone loves a hero. When it's a local hero, that's even better. Come and meet some of Conroe's finest first responders. Show your appreciation for the dedicated people in uniform who serve our community.
Face Painting & Family Fun
Let the shenanigans begin. There is a lot of fun to be had when you take part in our Backpacks and Barbers event. It's a great time for your family to spend time together and grow closer.
