The Ram 2500 is a full-size, heavy-duty truck that can tackle the toughest of jobs. This is due in large part to the powerful engines that drive this large pickup truck. Ram offers seven different trim levels for the Ram 2500. All can be had with 4WD, which comes standard on the Power Wagon Model. There are two available powertrains for this truck.
Here at DeMontrond Auto Country of Conroe, TX, we were impressed with both of the available powertrains for the Ram 2500. There's a 6.4-liter V8 gasoline engine. There's also an available 6.7-liter Turbodiesel. The diesel engine is available on every trim level except for the Power Wagon.
The V8 engine produces 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The diesel model cranks out 370 horsepower and an amazing 850 pound-feet of torque. The V8 will be able to tow 17,500 pounds, while the diesel can handle up to 19,680 pounds when properly equipped.
